December Campout!

Right on the heels of the November campout, is our December trip to Camp Russell in Woodgate, NY. This one overnight trip will be Saturday, December 6-Sunday, December 7th, leaving from the Waterville Firehouse at, gasp, 8am. Scouts can bring cross country skiis or snowshoes if it looks like there is snow to use them. Which there probably will be!

IMPORTANT INFO: 11/19 Meeting

There is still some work left on the reindeer we are sending to our troops overseas. Please consider bringing the following to the meeting to make the process quicker:

power drills and 3/4 or 1" spade bits. (to be used by adults, not scouts)
Clear plastic strapping tape.
Large sturdy cardboard boxes.
Pocket knives and cheerful imaginations.
AND anything that will make our servicemen and women overseas happier during their time spent away from home.

November Campout!

`Your scout(s) should have received the activity form for the November Campout at last night’s meeting. In case it got left in the yard or crumpled in the back seat, it is also posted here under References.

The November Campout is our annual trip to Highland Forest Campground in Fabius. Dropoff at the Waterville Fire House on Friday, November 21st at 5:30pm, pickup same place on Sunday the 23rd around 10:00ish. Boys will need to have eaten dinner prior to dropoff or bring a bag dinner.

Please make sure your scout(s) have appropriate winter weather gear and sleeping systems.

Shopping for campouts - Procedures and Form

In order to help scouts (and parents) who volunteer to do the grocery shopping for their patrol, I have developed a form that has the procedures and some helpful hints.
The form is available on our reference tab, or just use this link:

2008 Aplin Camporee Agenda

Fall District Camporee!

We are hosting the Fall District Camporee this year, at the Madison County Fairgrounds, and would like as many scouts from our troop there as possible. We have an excellent opportunity to show area troops how wonderful our area and activities are, and would like lots of boy there to help out and enjoy the weekend!

There is no organized transportation for this campout. Boys need to be dropped off at the Moscow Hill Assembly Area at 5:30pm Friday, October 24th. Now, before you say, “uh, where? I have no idea where that is,” here are the directions:

September Campout in the Thousand Islands!

The troop is going to be traveling to Wellesley Island, in the Thousand Islands, for the September campout. We will be participating in the Hiawatha Seaway Council’s World Brotherhood Camporee with scouts from both United States and Canada.

August Campout!

The information on the August campout is finally out! It will be a one night campout with the Webelos, like previous years, at the Waterville Fish and Game Club on Kemp Road in Waterville. Dropoff is at the Club at 3pm on Saturday, August 23rd, and pickup is at the Club at 9am the 24th. The Activity Form is located under the 'Reference' tab at the top of this page.

Summer Camp Parent Guide and Other Info
